What is interactive content, anyway? Interactive content can be anything from a drop-down language menu, to a quiz or a game. It is important to include interactive content on your website to keep your visitors engaged in the experience of learning what you have to offer.
Interactive content on a website helps the visitor to control what kind of information they are seeing, and how that information is delivered to them.
A helpful way to decide what kind of interactive content your website will have, is to think about your website’s goal or call to action. We want our viewers/visitors to do something. Knowing what that something is, will go a long way to helping you decide what your interactive content will look like.
– The goal of your website is to get people to get their flu shot. Your website may include interactive content that provides a “Find a Clinic Near You” mapping feature, or an online appointment booking feature.
– The goal of your website is to get people to pay their bills online. Your website may include interactive content like a “How Green Are You?” quiz, and a form to sign up for online billing.
– The goal of your website is to teach people how to install a new program on their computer. Your interactive content may include a step-by-step video, or a live chat with tech support.
No matter what your interactive content is, it’s sure to keep your visitors feeling engaged and in control of the information they are viewing. It will also help you in achieving your website’s goal.
